Job Title: UI/UX Designer — Research & UX Writing Location: Remote Type: Full-time Role Purpose Lead user research and own the product's language. You will: Plan and run studies, synthesize insights, and design flows. Craft clear, empathetic microcopy (names, labels, tooltips, empty/error states). Prototype solutions, validate with users, and partner with engineering/product to ship measurable improvements in comprehension, task success, and conversion. Non-Negotiables Experience: 3+ years in product design/research, including demonstrable UX writing/content design for shipped products. Research excellence: Plan and conduct interviews, surveys, copy tests, and usability studies; create screeners/scripts; run tree/card sorts; synthesize findings into problem statements and prioritized opportunities. UX writing & content design: Establish voice & tone, terminology, and naming patterns; write concise, inclusive, and actionable microcopy for critical paths; maintain a style guide and message map. Interaction design fundamentals: Task flows, IA, low→high fidelity; consider edge/empty/error/loading states early. Prototyping & testing: Interactive prototypes in Figma; remote testing tools; iterate based on evidence. Accessibility & inclusivity: Plain language, WCAG-minded decisions (contrast, focus, keyboard, motion), and inclusive wording. Data-informed decisions: Define UX and copy metrics (task success, time-to-complete, comprehension/recall, drop-off), set baselines, partner on A/B tests, and track impact after release. Handoff quality: Provide precise specs and annotations (content guidelines, character limits, states) so developers can implement without guesswork. Nice to Have Localization and terminology management. Motion/micro-interactions to reinforce meaning. Experience designing experiments and guardrail metrics. Basic front-end awareness (HTML/CSS/React concepts) to assess feasibility. Writing for AI/chat flows and conversational UI.
