The Role: We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant with HIGH expertise on US accounting to join our team. In this individual contributor role, you’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with the Accounting Service Manager and third-party accounting teams to maintain financial health, optimize processes, and support our growing business. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping: Accurately record financial transactions, including processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts. Compliance & Tax Support: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax filings and audits as needed. Budget & Forecast Support: Assist with budget tracking and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and variance analysis. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce errors, and increase efficiency. Implement changes where needed to ensure scalability as we grow. Collaboration: Work closely with the Accounting Service Manager and other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Provide support for ad hoc financial analysis and decision-making. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a startup or small business environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial ERP systems is a plus. Audit Experience: Experience in audit-based work is a big plus. Knowledge: Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and tax regulations. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying potential issues and providing solutions before they escalate. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
