Role Overview We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Founding Engineer with strong AI experience — a hands-on technical leader who will define, architect, and scale our technology from the ground up. This role is 70% backend architecture & infrastructure and 30% AI/chatbot development, with a clear path to becoming our future CTO if successful. You will lead the technical roadmap, oversee a team of developers, and work directly with our CEO — the ultimate decision-maker for all high-impact roles. This position is full-time, remote (preferably based in LATAM or the US) and offers competitive pay plus potential equity for the right candidate. What You’ll Lead & Build Own the backend and infrastructure architecture, ensuring scalability for exponential growth. Design, develop, and integrate robust APIs — both building from scratch and connecting with third-party APIs. Oversee data architecture: creation, optimization, and maintenance for high-performance systems. Implement scalable, multilingual RAG systems trained on real-world case data. Build AI-powered conversational chatbots (including GNI capabilities for dynamic, context-aware responses). Develop voice-to-intent pipelines using Whisper or advanced tools. Lead agent orchestration, contextual memory, and feedback loops for intelligent systems. Guide technical decision-making on tools, infrastructure, timelines, and trade-offs. Provide hands-on mentorship to a team of 4 full-stack developers and coordinate closely with the CEO. Techs: Node, express, python, Aws y PostgreSQL You’re a Great Fit If You: Have 7+ years in software engineering, with strong backend and API development expertise. Bring proven experience in AI/chatbot development — ideally with GNI or similar generative AI tech. Understand AWS deeply and can architect for scalability and reliability. Are comfortable taking ownership of the tech roadmap, defining architectures, and setting timelines. Have experience in high-growth startups and thrive in fast-paced, “get-it-done” environments. Can be available and responsive at all times when critical situations arise. Speak fluent English (Spanish/Portuguese a plus).
