Assessment instruments

  • BAS reward responsivenessAssessment instruments

BAS reward responsiveness is how strongly someone reacts, emotionally and behaviorally, to the anticipation of a reward.

    Part of BIS/BAS

    Intensity, not pursuit

It's about the intensity of the response to an opportunity, distinct from drive, which is about sustained pursuit once the pursuit is underway.

    How it shows up

High reward responsiveness gets a visible lift from good news or an incoming opportunity. Low reward responsiveness reacts more evenly, even to genuinely good news.

    Why it matters at Mappa

This facet shapes how much visible energy an incentive or a win actually produces, which matters for anyone designing recognition or reward structures.

Find out how strongly opportunity actually excites you.
