Speech & model terms

  • Model versionSpeech & model terms

A model version is a specific, dated iteration of a trained model, and a profile produced by one version isn't directly comparable to a profile produced by a different one.

Models change over time as they're retrained or improved, and those changes can shift scoring scales or trait definitions. Comparing a score from one model version against a score from another, without accounting for the version difference, isn't a valid comparison, similar to comparing results from two different editions of the same test.

    How it shows up

A person assessed under one model version and reassessed months later, under a newer version, might see a different score even if nothing about them has meaningfully changed, simply because the underlying model shifted.

    Why it matters

Tracking model version is what keeps a comparison honest. Treating scores from different versions as interchangeable is a quiet way to draw a false conclusion from real data.
