Assessment instruments

  • UniversalismAssessment instruments

Universalism is the value placed on understanding, tolerance, and the welfare of people and nature beyond one's immediate circle.

    Part of PVQ

    Looking outward

Where benevolence looks inward toward close relationships, universalism looks outward, toward fairness and wellbeing at a broader, more abstract scale.

    How it shows up

High universalism cares about how a decision affects people well outside the room it's made in. Low universalism weighs those broader effects less heavily against more immediate concerns.

    Why it matters at Mappa

Universalism often shows up in how someone reacts to a company's stated mission and values, and whether that reaction is genuine or indifferent.
