Assessment instruments

  • PowerAssessment instruments

Power is the value placed on social status, prestige, and control or dominance over people and resources.

    Part of PVQ

    Position, not competence

It's the value most directly about position relative to others, distinct from achievement, which is about competence rather than rank.

    How it shows up

High power is drawn toward roles with visible authority and influence over outcomes. Low power can be highly capable and still uninterested in accumulating formal authority for its own sake.

    Why it matters at Mappa

Power sits opposite benevolence and universalism in the values circle, which is part of why a strong power orientation and a strongly collaborative, values-driven culture can create real friction.

Find out how much status and control actually matter to you.
