Assessment instruments

  • Sensitivity to expressionAssessment instruments

This facet is the ability to notice and accurately read other people's expressive and emotional behavior.

    Part of RSMS

    The perceptual half

It's the perceptual half of self-monitoring: picking up on subtle social cues before deciding whether or how to respond to them.

    How it shows up

High sensitivity picks up on a shift in someone's tone or body language almost immediately. Low sensitivity can miss the same cue entirely, not from indifference, but because it doesn't register as strongly.

    Why it matters at Mappa

This facet is a moderator for how other traits appear to observers, since it shapes how accurately someone reads the effect they're having on the room.
