Assessment instruments

  • PsychopathyAssessment instruments

Psychopathy, in this context, is impulsivity paired with low empathy and disregard for the consequences of one's actions on others.

    Part of SD3

    Acting first, accounting later

Of the three dark-triad traits, this one is most associated with acting first and accounting for the fallout later, if at all.

    How it shows up

High psychopathy tends to act on impulse with little apparent concern for how it affects others. Low psychopathy weighs the impact on other people more heavily before acting.

    Why it matters at Mappa

This trait carries much of the risk the dark triad is built to catch, and it's part of why these traits are gated rather than averaged into a broader score.
