Assessment instruments

  • ConscientiousnessAssessment instruments

Conscientiousness describes how organized, diligent, careful, and self-disciplined a person is in getting things done.

    Distorted by a single number

It's one of the most consistently replicated predictors of job performance in the personality literature, across a wide range of roles and industries. But it's also one of the traits most distorted by being reduced to a single number, because organized and diligent are genuinely different capacities that happen to correlate.

    How it shows up

A meticulous planner and a relentless grinder can land on the same overall conscientiousness score for entirely different reasons: one through structure, the other through sheer persistence. They are not interchangeable at work, even though a factor-level score treats them as if they are.

    Why it matters at Mappa

That's exactly why we read this factor at facet level rather than factor level. A single conscientiousness score can hide two very different working styles, and the facets are where the useful, specific information actually lives.

Find out what your conscientiousness is actually made of.
