Company culture

  • OCAICompany culture

OCAI, the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument, is a published instrument for placing a company on the Competing Values Framework, completed by people who work inside it.

Because OCAI is completed by employees themselves, it captures a company's culture as experienced from the inside, rather than inferred from external facts about the company. That distinction matters, since a company's stated culture and its lived culture don't always match.

    How it shows up

Two companies with identical public descriptions of their culture can produce very different OCAI results, because the instrument measures what people inside experience, not what the company says about itself.

    Why it matters

An instrument completed by the people living inside a culture is a fundamentally different kind of evidence than an outside description of that culture, however well-informed the description is.

See what an honest read of your own environment looks like.
