Assessment instruments

  • Social self-esteemAssessment instruments

Social self-esteem is a person's general confidence and positive self-regard, particularly in social situations.

    Part of Extraversion

    What it’s about

It's the foundation facet of Extraversion, closer to how someone feels about themselves in a room full of people than to how they actually behave once they're in it.

    How it shows up

High social self-esteem tends to enter a new group assuming it will go fine. Low social self-esteem can enter the same room bracing for it not to.

    Why it matters at Mappa

It shapes how someone carries themselves into a room before a single word gets exchanged, and it colors how every subsequent interaction in that setting gets interpreted.
