Assessment instruments

  • PerceptionAssessment instruments

Perception, in this instrument, is the ability to notice opportunities for change or improvement before they're pointed out.

    Part of PPS

    The observational half

It's the observational half of proactivity: seeing the gap before anyone names it, which has to happen before initiative is even possible.

    How it shows up

High perception notices an inefficiency or an opening that others walk past daily without registering. Low perception is more likely to act well on a problem once someone else has flagged it.

    Why it matters at Mappa

Perception without the other proactive facets can look like unrealized potential: someone who sees the opportunity but doesn't act on it.
