  • Training and inferenceSpeech & model terms

Training is the process by which a model learns from data; inference is applying that already-trained, fixed model to something new.

    Part of Parameters

    How it shows up

A model does not learn from an individual recording it scores after training. It applies the same fixed model to that new input.

    Why it matters

Knowing that inference does not further train the model keeps the claim precise: the system applies a completed model each time.
