Assessment instruments

  • Positive affectAssessment instruments

Positive affect is the extent to which someone generally experiences enthusiasm, alertness, and active engagement.

    Part of PANAS

A baseline, not a good day

It's a baseline reading, not a measure of a single good day. Someone high in positive affect tends to carry that energy into ordinary, unremarkable moments, not just genuine wins.

    How it shows up

High positive affect shows up as sustained engagement even in routine work. Low positive affect can do the same work competently, with a flatter, more even baseline underneath it.

    Why it matters at Mappa

Positive affect is one of the more visible traits in day-to-day interaction, and one of the traits most likely to be conflated with performance, which it doesn't reliably predict.

Find out how much enthusiasm is actually your baseline.
