Assessment instruments

  • Internally motivatedAssessment instruments

Internal motivation is the drive to take initiative because it's personally meaningful, rather than because it's expected or rewarded.

    Part of PPS

    The source of the drive

This facet is about the source of the drive: initiative that comes from within, independent of external prompting or incentive.

    How it shows up

High internal motivation takes on a problem simply because it seems worth solving. Low internal motivation is more likely to wait for a clear signal that action is expected.

    Why it matters at Mappa

Internal motivation is often the more durable of the two motivation facets, since it doesn't rely on an external structure staying in place to keep functioning.
